Accountability
How we hold ourselves accountable.
Rules we wrote down before we raised money, so anyone can check whether we followed them.
Governance policy
In plain language. The full written policy is available to any donor or reporter on request.
-
No related-party payments
The committee does not pay any officer, advisor, or their family members or businesses for goods or services beyond the published officer compensation. Vendors must certify they have no ownership relationship with any officer.
-
Two-person approval over $2,500
Any single disbursement above $2,500 requires written approval from two officers before it is paid. One person cannot move significant money alone.
-
Competitive bids over $10,000
Any vendor engagement expected to exceed $10,000 requires at least two written bids, and the reason for the selection is kept on file for the outside advisors to review.
-
Two outside advisors with the right to review the books
Two named advisors who are not officers, employees, or vendors may inspect bank statements, invoices, contracts, and approvals at any time without notice. Their names are published below.
-
Annual independent review
Once a year an independent accountant who has no other relationship with the committee reviews the books and the results are summarized on this page.
-
No debt beyond cash on hand
The committee does not take on obligations it cannot pay from cash already in the bank. No loans, no vendor credit beyond normal net-30 terms.
Compensation policy
Officer pay is capped at 10% of net receipts. It is paid only after vendors are paid and only after at least 70% of receipts have gone to program spending (independent expenditures and the creative behind them). Any payment to an officer must be approved in writing by the outside advisors named below, and the total paid is published on this page and in the spending summary.
- Cap: 10% of net receipts (receipts after processing fees and refunds).
- Program floor: no officer pay until program spending reaches 70% of receipts.
- Order of payment: vendors first, program floor second, officer pay last.
